Kate Spurling

Kate is a born and bred Aussie who graduated from RMIT University in Melbourne with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Complementary Medicine) and Masters of Osteopathy. Prior to completing her two osteopathic degrees, she attained a Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Movement). As well as practicing osteopathy in both Australia and New Zealand, Kate practiced in Canada for two years also.

Being an extremely active individual from an early age, Kate has a love for the outdoors and all sports, in particular she is passionate about snow skiing. Kate is a certified ski instructor and taught skiing for several years at the infamous Beaver Creek Resort in Colorado, USA and also at the Olympic Resort of Whistler/ Blackcomb in Canada. As such, Kate has a special interest in treating, managing and rehabilitating sporting injuries.

Her other osteopathic interest is in treating babies, children and pregnant women. She is enthusiastic about seeing children bounce back from traumatic birth, playground injuries or childhood illnesses so that they can continue to grow and develop into healthy young adults. Similarly she believes that osteopathic care for pregnant women can help provide welcome relief as the mother’s body and posture as it continually compensates and responds to the baby’s growth.

Kate enjoys working with people of all ages and uses a diverse range of osteopathic techniques including cranial osteopathy to ensure the best possible outcome. She has done extensive post-graduate training to further her skills.

In her spare time you will find Kate training in the hills for one her many off road trail ultramarathons, but most importantly during the winter she’ll be laying down turns on a “blank canvas” in the backcountry ski touring.

Kate has an undeniable commitment in returning her patients to optimal function and health to maintain and enjoy an active and healthy lifestyle.
